Volunteer Opportunuties

Thanks to all our wonderful volunteers. Without you we could not make it.

Volunteer at lunch time with the Parents Assisting Lunch Shifts (PALS) program.  The PALS program is a fun and easy way to help the school and check out what is going on with the students. The volunteers' job is to help oversee the hall pass program when students leave the cafeteria during lunchtimes. The volunteer shift time on regular school days is 11:20am to 1:20pm. There is a brief break time between the lunch shifts. The scheduling goal is to have 2 volunteers each day.   I am setting up the September 2009 volunteer schedule for the PALS program.  Future months will be scheduled after back to school night. If you are available and interested in volunteering send to me as soon as possible:

-- If you are interested, please contact me at dcrisco@comcast.net  (Dayna Crisco, PALS Coordinator)

Media Volunteers, daily 11:20-1:20 p.m.  Help with checking in and reshelving books, filing items, and assisting students who visit the library during lunch.  Contact the PTA at volunteer@bbmspta.org.

TOPS PROGRAM

Mr. Janelli is looking for a few parents to help students on a one-on-one with basic math skills during Core+ time (between 11:20 and 1:20, exact time depends on grade of student). Here is his message:

Currently the school TOPS program, which focuses on interventions in reading and math contents, is seeking parent volunteers to work with students during Core Plus. We are looking for parent or two who are willing to assist students with basic math skills. They would be in the class with the student's math teacher. I can send more details if you think you might have anyone interested.

Drivers Needed

BBMS administration is looking for individuals who are willing to provide transportation to other BBMS families who do not have transportation. These families are unable to attend parent-teacher conferences or other BBMS activities.

Right now, they have a very specific need to transport a family member to/from school for a conference during the school day.

If you are interested in helping out another family from the BBMS community, please contact info@bbmspta.org.
